Hello and welcome to our About Us page.
We are two sisters who love to work in crafts and who also wish to carry on a legacy.
Our enterprise came about because our younger sister Julie had a dream of running her own company selling bespoke handmade items.
Unfortunately Julie was taken ill and passed away after a short illness at the age of 50.
Knowing she could not fulfill her dream, she asked us to help her carry on as a legacy to her. At the same time she also wanted us to give back something to those who helped her in her final weeks.
So we decided to make the memory items using peoples clothing.
How did we get the name? Well that was easy as Julie chose the name whilst planning the company with us. J BlueChico was Julie’s email since she had her first ever account (too many years ago to mention) and it stuck because it just seemed right.
How do we help others? That’s the easy part. Firstly, we try to include as many recycled and up-cycled items in our products as possible.
Secondly, for every item we make and sell, 5% of all monies will go to the Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough.In recognition of the amazing work they do and the help they gave Julie and the rest of her family in her final few weeks.
